Reporting Requirements

Per NIST SP 800-53, “Contingency planning for systems is part of an overall program for achieving continuity of operations for organizational mission and business functions. Contingency planning addresses system restoration and implementation of alternative mission or business processes when systems are compromised or breached.”

Specifically, Per CP-2 of NIST SP 800-53, organizations are to “develop a contingency plan for the system…”. The keyword here is “develop”, which means you need a documented plan in place for CP-2.
