The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency provides counterintelligence, personnel vetting, critical technology protection, and training services to ensure a trusted workforce and safeguard national security. DCSA is in effect, the Guardian of our Nation’s Assets.  On October 1, 2019, DCSA became the security agency in the federal government dedicated to protecting America’s trusted workforce and trusted workspaces.

DCSA joins two critical missions: Personnel Vetting and Critical Technology Protection, supported by the Counterintelligence and Training, Education and Certification missions. DCSA Administers the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) for DoD and 33 Other Federal Agencies. DCSA has approximately 167 field locations, 11,700 employees & contractors, and has cleared more than 4 million personnel.

Within the DCSA, the NISP Authorization Office (NAO) handles the execution of A&A processes within the NISP, via eMASS. The NAO is accountable for DCSA’s timely, consistent policy implementation and A&A determinations nationwide, working closely with cleared defense industry, government contracting activities, and other DCSA industrial security personnel.  The NAO is accountable for DCSA’s timely, consistent policy implementation and A&A determinations nationwide, working closely with cleared defense industry, government contracting activities, and other DCSA industrial security personnel.
